Bishop Rothel Highsmith Bishop Rothel Highsmith was born March 12, 1961, to Mr. Herbert Highsmith, Sr. and Evangelist Thelma Highsmith in Brooklyn, New York. Bishop Highsmith grew up loving God and faithfully attending Mt. Sinai Cathedral COGIC under the leadership of the Late Bishop Clarence L. Sexton, Sr. He is the proud father of three children Rothnetta Highsmith, Jeathel Highsmith, and Jallen Highsmith. He is the proud grandfather of one grandson Elijah Highsmith. He is married to the lovely Lady Yolanda Highsmith. Bishop Highsmith is the Pastor of Bright Light Family Worship Center COGIC and Family Christian Life Deliverance Ministries COGIC in Middletown, NY. He is a Preacher, Teacher, Counselor and Friend. A spiritual leader who provides leadership not only to Bright Light, but throughout New York City, New York State, and the Country. Bishop Highsmith truly believes in meeting the needs of the total man. Therefore, Bright Light continues to feed the hungry, and give hope to the hopeless, witness to the lost, and give spiritual guidance to the saved. Bishop Rothel Highsmith has served in the Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Eastern New York since its inception under the leadership of Bishop C.L.Sexton, Sr and under Bishop Aubrey Baker, Jr. Bishop Rothel Highsmith served as Chief of Staff in the Second Jurisdiction, Superintendent of the Empowered Progressive District. Bishop Highsmith has served the National Church since 1990 as a National Adjutant serving as Adjutant Overseer and most recently appointed to serve presently as a Deputy Commissioner in the Church of God in Christ Security Task Force; by Presiding Bishop J. Drew Sheard. Bishop Rothel Highsmith holds a Doctrine Degree in Christian Philosophy from Shekinah Bible Institute School of Ministry.
